Bobby Ray Earnest passed from this life on August 25, 2020 at the age of 81 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Bobby was born on August 11, 1939, at Buffalo Creek in Southeastern Oklahoma. He was the son of Evelyn Earnest Porterfield. Bobby grew up and attended school in Sand Springs before moving to California then at the age of 13 moved to Prue, Oklahoma where he graduated with the Class of 1957. While in school Bobby loved playing sports and was the fastest in his class. Following high school Bobby began working for the Local Plumbers and Pipefitters Union #430. He has worked throughout the United States as well as overseas including Spain. He worked constructing electrical powerplants and his last project was for General Electric at the Oolagah PSO plant. On September 9, 1999, Bobby was united in marriage to Teresa and continued to reside in Prue.
Bobby had a passion for sports his favorites were softball and baseball. He played for many years even as an adult. He was always ready to lend his abilities to help teach others what he knew. He loved watching his kids and grandkids playing sports. Some of his and Teresa’s memorable trips were the Alaskan cruise, the trip to Europe and several other cruises in the Caribbean. His favorite place to be was on the back porch at the house. Bobby was a 32nd Degree Mason and longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Prue.
Survivors include his wife Teresa of the home; six children Sue Stucks of Prue, Oklahoma, Dale Smith and his wife Tammy of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Aaron Johnson of Mannford, Bethanie Horton and her husband Jeremy of Prue, Oklahoma, Jim Earnest of Sand Springs, Brian Johnson of Owasso, two siblings, Billy Toothman of Prue, Oklahoma, Wanda Gaye Goodman of Prue, Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his mother Evelyn Porterfield, two bothers Charles Toothman and Richard Toothman.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Prue with Pastor Garry McDevitt officiating. Burial will be in the Prairie View Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Friends and family may visit an online guest book and memorial page for Bobby at www.chapman-black.com.
