Bobby Laye Conner, 52, a life long resident of Cleveland, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2009 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the St. John Medical Center. At the time of his death, Bobby was employed with Cleveland Lease Service/BSO in Cleveland as a tanker truck driver. Bobby was born in Winfield, Kansas on October 16, 1956 the son of William and Aline Lois (Love) Conner. As a young child Bobby moved with his family to the Cleveland area where he began his education. At the completion of his education Bobby was united in marriage to Charlotte Elizabeth Woodrell on November 8, 1974 at the Terlton Baptist Church. The couple established thier initial home in Cleveland and Bobby accepted a job with his father in law as a brick layer. After several years Bobby began working in the oil industry as a roustabout and pumper. He pumped for Swindler Oil before gaining employment at Prairie Well Service in Pawhuska 1990. In 1997, Bobby began working for Cleveland Lease/BSO. Bobby enjoyed being outdoors; spending every spare moment fishing and hunting. Bobby also enjoyed going to auction; estate sales and camping. He also enjoyed going to Branson and Eureka Springs with his family. One of BobbyÃs favorite adventures was his daily trip to the post office no matter what. Bobby adored his grandchildren and enjoyed every minute spent with them and his family. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte of the home, children Heath Wayne Conner and his wife Amanda of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Billy Jack Conner and his wife Kim of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Amber Kathleen and her husband Cory Henley of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Kiley and her husband Sedrick Zelsnack of Tulsa, Oklahoma, one brother, Billy Conner of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, sister, Glenda Cox of Cleveland, Oklahoma, brother in law Donnie Lucas of Cleveland, Oklahoma, grandchildren Coty Wayne known as his "Papa's Brat", Katelynn Dawn her ìPapaÃs Burnie", Austin DeWayne "Papa's Little Buddy", Caden Alexander Henley and Adyson Marie Henley, his special four legged friend Blondie as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Bobby was preceded in death by his father, William Conner, mother, Aline Lois Alexander, step father Woody Alexander, two sisters, Sandra Harmon and Katy Lucas as well as a grandson Jasper Conner. Church services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, May 15, 2009 at the First Christian Church with Pastor Wayne Brown officiating. The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday evening, May 13, 2009 from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Dixie Bear Creek Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.
