Bobby Joe Goodman passed from this life on June 16, 2022, at the age of 81, at home in Prue, Oklahoma.
Bobby was born on May 17, 1941, in rural Osage County near Prue, the son of Earl and Jewel (Watts) Goodman. Bobby grew up and attended school in Prue, Oklahoma. He was an active member of the basketball and volleyball teams during high school. During that time, Bobby was a member of the 1958 Volleyball State Championship Team.
Following high school, Bobby attended Connors State College in Warner, Oklahoma. After a short time at college, he returned to marry his high school sweetheart Wanda Gaye Toothman. On May 21, 1960, in Prue, Oklahoma, Bobby was united in marriage to the love of his life. Bobby soon began working at C.E. Natco in West Tulsa as a welder until the facility's closure in 1984. He then gained employment with Alloy Welding supply, where he remained for many years. He later accepted a position with Praxair, where he worked as a salesman until retirement in 2015.
Bobby always enjoyed golfing, fishing, and tending to his yard. He was a huge fan and supporter of the University of Oklahoma. Bobby took several trips fishing to Mexico, Canada, and the White River in Arkansas. Bobby always liked grilling outside for his family or going for a good steak. He also enjoyed watching Mark and Debbie participate in sporting events and later his granddaughter Jamie.
Survivors are his wife of over 62 years, Wanda of the home, two children Mark Goodman of Prue, Oklahoma, Debbie Barnes and her husband Joe of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, and one granddaughter Jamie Barnes and her fiancé Kory Warren of Tulsa, Oklahoma and a great-granddaughter Hadley Kate and a host of other relatives and friends. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Jewel Goodman, three brothers, Paul Ray, Eugene, and Benny Goodman, and a sister Mazie Horton.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at the Prairie View Cemetery, with Dev Brill officiating the services.
