Bobby Charles Jackson, Sr. was born on September 24, 1943 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He was the son of William Lonnie and Ava Lucille (Pendley) Jackson. As a young man Bobby grew up in the Holdenville area where he graduated from high school. Soon after high school Bobby was inducted in to the Oklahoma National Guard. He was initially stationed in Ft. Jackson, South Carolina where he attended basic training. Upon his return from basic training Bobby was introduced to the love of his life Bevalene Grigsby. The couple was soon united in marriage on January 2, 1965 in Arkansas. The couple established their initial home in Arkansas before moving to Okmulgee, Oklahoma. During his time in Okmulgee Bobby gained employment with R and L Welding. Bobby and Bevalene soon moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma where they have continued to reside. During his time in Cleveland Bobby worked for R & L Welding resurfacing drill bits in the oil industry. Bobby worked for R & L for over 22 years before going into business for himself. Bobby was one of very few people with the ability to resurface drilling bits back to original specifications. Bobby was a man that loved being around his family. He was a devoted husband, daddy, brother and pa paw. One of his greatest accomplishments other than his family was returning to further his knowledge at vo-tech where he learned the trade of television and radio repair. Bobby was an avid coon hunter and also loved to hunt squirrels, go fishing, camping and visiting museums. Bobby also spent numerous hours making knives and collecting coins. One of his favorite things to do was listen to country and religious music. Bobby passed from this life on Monday, November 28, 2011 at his home peacefully with his family at his side at the age of 68 years two months and four days. Survivors are his wife Bevalene of the home, seven children Charlene Schonfield and her husband Darrell of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Brenda Varnell and her husband James of Mannford, Oklahoma, Bobby Jackson, Jr. and his wife Deena of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Christine Brugge and her husband Dale of Perry, Oklahoma, Carminta Pruitt and her husband Terry of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Brad Jackson and his wife Christina of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Chad Jackson and wife Wilhelmina of Cleveland, Oklahoma; one sister Patsy Kosher and her husband Howard of Alma, Arkansas; twenty six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends that will mourn his passing. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by a son Billy Carl Jackson on February 23, 1979, one brother Weldon Jackson and a sister Lonnie Jean Robertson. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 10:00 am in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church with Greg Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
