Bob Joe Clemens was born March 9, 1932 in Jennings, Oklahoma to Joe Taft and Esther Edna (Dunegan) Clemens. Bob was raised and received his education in Jennings, Yale and Cushing where he graduated from high school. Soon after high school Bob accepted employment with, Seismograph Company and was transferred to New Mexico. That job took Bob to many different places in the United States. Bob was to Shirley Lee Allen on December 27, 1951 in Drumright, Oklahoma and to that union there are were four children Arlie, Marina Jo, Donald and Lonnie. On July 21, 1952 Bob joined the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Bob was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army on June 12, 1954. Upon his discharge Bob returned to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he accepted employment with the City of Tulsa.
On September 9, 1968 Bob was united in marriage to Sybil Lea (Place) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In the 1980Ãs Bob and Sybil moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma. Bob continued to work for the City of Tulsa for over 37 years at his retirement in 1994.
Bob took many vacation trips to California to visit relatives while his children were growing up. Bob was a perfectionist, loved to fish and also loved working in his shop beside his home.
Bob passed away May 17, 2005 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years 2 months and 8 days. Preceding Bob in death are his parents, wife Sybil on Sept. 4, 2003 and a son Lonnie Duane Clemens on January 27, 1960.
Surviving are his three children, Arlie D. and his wife Ha-Suk Clemens of Terlton, Oklahoma; Marina Jo and her husband Lee Smith of Haskell, Oklahoma; Donald L. Clemens of Cleveland, Oklahoma; one brother Don Clemens of Cleveland, Oklahoma; two sisters Wanda Cargill of Cushing, Oklahoma; Jean Davis of Overton, Texas; two half brothers Jerry Clemens of Ripley, Oklahoma; Kenny Clemens of Stillwater, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside funeral services are to be held Friday, May 20, 2005 at 11:00 am in the Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery in Sand Springs, Oklahoma with Dr. Gene Perry officiating services under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc. of Cleveland, Oklahoma.
