Blaze Neil Merriman went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 24, 2012. Blaze was born in Pawnee, OK, on November 3, 1972, to Richard and Janice Merriman. He went to school in Cleveland, starting with kindergarten and graduating with the class of 1991. He was an electrician by trade and worked at several places, including Word, KAMO, Indian Electric, City of Pawnee Coop, City of Skiatook, Verdigris Valley, and being self-employed as an electrician in the oil field. Blaze loved the outdoors and was an avid deer hunter. He loved taking his friends and family boating on the lake. He was always hanging out with family and friends, no matter what the occasion or event. He loved cooking out and going to OU football games. He loved his two dogs, Sister and Tiger and was often seen with them. Blaze also loved his trucks, especially his 1970 green Chevy which he was always cleaning. He had a loving heart, especially toward his nieces and nephews, and, being a perfectionist, was always trying to teach them to do their best in all they did. He would give the shirt off his back and do whatever he could to help anyone out. He always had a smile on his face and a hyper, up-beat attitude, that was infectious to everyone around him. Blaze is survived by his parents, his brother Doug Merriman and sister Amanda Merriman, nieces Memory, Gracie, and Kyla Merriman, nephews Tyler, Ryder, and Logan Merriman, maternal grandmother Fern Walker, numerous aunts and uncles, and close family friend Toni Siler-Martin, her son Colton and her daughter Lexi, and many, many close friends. Blaze was preceded in death by his sister, Andrea Logan Merriman, and paternal grandparents, Charles and Waive Merriman. Blaze was known to countless people in the community, and will be dearly missed by us all. If you knew him at all, youÃre sure to have your own Blaze story. Funeral services were held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the Western Heights Baptist Church with Rev. David Head officiating. Burial was at the IOOF Cemetery in Maramec under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
