Billy Voshell Jefferson

Billy Voshell Jefferson, longtime Cleveland Area resident passed from this life on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at his home in Westport at the age of 93 years. Billy was born January 14, 1927 in Herd, Oklahoma; the son of James William and Nellie Ann (Ballard) Jefferson. His family later moved to Springfield, CO where he graduated high school. Billy served his country with the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in December of 1946. He later moved to Blackburn, Oklahoma and on May 12, 1954 was united in marriage to Anna Mae Turner in Pawnee, Oklahoma. They made their home in Blackburn until moving to Sand Springs in 1957, then moving to Tulsa in 1964. In 1981, they moved to their Lake Home at Westport. Billy was the owner of Jefferson Trash Service for many years, eventually transferring ownership to his son. He enjoyed fishing, playing dominos with his friends, and going to dances. The love of his life Anna preceded him in death in April of 2014.
Those that survive and hold many cherished memories include his four children – Debbie Collins and husband Phil of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Denise Laake and husband Steve of Tulsa, Deanna Mares and husband Michael of Tulsa and Dennis Jefferson and wife Tia of Terlton; Grandchildren Tammy, Tamara, Vanessa, Jason, Jeremy, Justin, Matthew, Amanda, Miranda, Sean, Ashleigh, Dennis James, Ethen, Channing, Mia, Mitchell and Jayden. Also surviving are 36 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, wife Anna, one sister and three brothers.
Visitation for Billy will be from 5-7pm Monday, July 27th at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Cleveland. Private family services will be held on Tuesday July 28th at the Blackburn Cemetery, Blackburn, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements and services.
