Billy Gene Hart

Funeral services for Billy Gene Hart will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at the Woodland Cemetery Chapel with Todd Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home of Cleveland, Oklahoma.

Billy G. Hart of Mannford was born December 1, 1933 in Pawnee County South of Cleveland, Oklahoma on the Brewer Lease to Floyd L. and Myrtle M. (Hall) Hart. Billy attended and graduated from the Terlton Schools. Billy worked at several different places in Cleveland before accepting employment at Cramer and Dunlap during the mid 1950ís in the steel industry. On April 6, 1956 Billy was united in marriage to Karen Sue (Hansard) in Cleveland, Oklahoma. After their marriage, Billy and Karen lived in Terlton, Hallett and Sand Springs areas before they made their final home in Mannford around 1973. Billy continued to work in several different steel mills in the Tulsa area and was last employed with Carter & Waters in Sand Springs when he retired in 1998.

Billy was often found in the stands of ball games for his children and grandchildren. He coached softball when his children were younger. He loved being with his family and was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.

Billy passed away November 17, 2003 at Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years 11 months and 16 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Dorothy Freeman as well as a infant son Billy Hart, Jr.

Survived by his loving wife, Karen of the home; children, Marcy and husband Tony Babcock of Mannford, Oklahoma; Mickey and husband Ernie Danley of Mannford, Oklahoma; Jan and husband Mark Battenfield of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; sisters, Ellyn Hewitt of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Carmen Shotwell of Agra, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, J.J. Varnell, Ernie Danley, Kelly Hamilton, Sarah Hart Grigsby, Brock Battenfield, three great grandchildren Jacob Guiterriz, Madelyn Varnell and Faith Brewer as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
