Billie Joan Findley, of Cleveland, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years. Joan was born on January 4, 1930 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Joe Willie and Iva Gray (Ball) Hedrick. As a young girl Joan was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she began her education. She later graduated from Webster High School with the Class of 1948. On May 24, 1950, Joan was united in marriage to Leslie Lee Findley. The couple made their initial home in Tulsa, where they continued to reside until 1972. At that time Joan and Leslie moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma where she has continued to live. Joan was active in helping her husband operate their business Lee Electric answering the phone as well as taking care of the books. Holidayís were a special time to Joan. She would spend countless hours preparing for the events at her home. Joan also loved spending time tending to her flowers. She spent numerous hours making sure her peonies, hyacinth and lilacs would bloom to perfection. Joan enjoyed traveling. She took trips to Galveston, San Antonio, Texas as well as Branson on numerous occasions. Most of all out of life, Joan enjoyed the time spent at home with her family and friends. Survivors are her two children Renee Mills and her husband Freddie of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Richard Findley of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one brother J.W. Hedrick of Tulsa, Oklahoma; five grandchildren Christy Morris Baker and her husband Rob of Terlton, Oklahoma, Brandy Morris of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Amy Morris of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Robert Findley of Mannford, Oklahoma, Barbara Findley Marlar and her husband Brandon of Mannford, Oklahoma; three step grandchildren Linda Findley Livolsi and her husband Bill of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Lisa Findley Sullins of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Terry Findley Jr. of Cleveland, Oklahoma; eleven great grandchildren Tyler Findley of Coweta, Oklahoma, Steven Sullins of Hominy, Oklahoma, Leslie Morris of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Blaze and Dustin Baker both of Terlton, Oklahoma, Brandon and Cody Marlar both of Mannford, Oklahoma, Nicholas and Sarah Livolsi both of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Aiden and Alexander Findley both of Cleveland, Oklahoma as well as a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Lee Findley, daughter Patricia Lee Findley Morris, step son Terry Lee Findley, Sr., two sisters Mildred Howard, Pearl Molton and a nephew Tony Howard. Funeral services will be held 2:00 Pm Monday, January 4, 2010 in the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dan Edens officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland, Oklahoma under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
