Betty Mae Flora

Betty Mae Flora, 95, beloved mother and "GG", was called home to be with her Lord on June 8, 2015.  Betty was born on March 29, 1920 to Elsie May Estes and Earl Edward Cornelius in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.  She was raised in Cherryvale, Kansas where she attended school and graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1938.  On November 17, 1943, Betty married Herman Zachariah Flora and raised three children in the Methodist faith in Coffeyville, Kansas.  Following the death of her beloved husband on December 23, 1966, Betty worked at Cooper Flowers in Coffeyville, Kansas and retired from Automotive Control in Independence, Kansas.  She later moved to Tulsa where she remained for several years before moving to Cleveland in the late 1990's.   Betty enjoyed doing ceramics and crocheting.  Family was a big part of Betty's life, always enjoying the times they were together.  She loved making their birthdays special for them and getting together for holiday events. She leaves behind her three children and their spouses, Janie and George Hartzell of  Cleveland, Oklahoma,  Rick and Shirley Flora of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Magretta and Conley Wilson of Muskogee, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren- Andrea, Shannon, Dana, Christi, Zack, Angela, Brandy; twelve great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.  Betty's extended family blessed her with six additional grandchildren to love.  Betty was preceded in death by her husband, mother and a grandson.  Graveside Services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas with Chaplain Roy Bingham officiating.  Visitation will be held at the Ford-Wolf-Burns Funeral Chapel on Tuesday from 10:00 am till 12:00 pm in Coffeyville, Kansas.  Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.  A special Thank You from the family to the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home and Grace Hospice for all of the love and care.
