Betty Louise Toothman

Betty Louise Toothman went to be with her Lord and Saviour on age Monday, June 27, 2011 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years 10 months and 8 days. Betty was born August 19, 1934 in Bixby, Oklahoma she was the daughter of Dave and Ellen Viola (Hembree) Rickner. As a young girl Betty was raised in the Coweta area and later graduated from high school in 1953. Soon after high school Betty was united in marriage to Ray Gene Toothman on August 6, 1953. The couple made their intial home in Prue, Oklahoma before later moving to Nelagoney, Oklahoma. Soon after the death of Ray; Betty returned to Prue, Oklahoma. She gained employment at the local Tastee Freeze and then started working as a teacherís assistant at Prue Schools in 1963. Betty then accepted employment at Anderson in 1986. In 1990, she worked at Liberty Mounds and then at Tulsa Public Schools where she later retired in the mid 1990ís. Following retirement Betty loved the ability to relax. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and cooking. She also enjoyed going to arts and crafts shows, traveling as well as going on extended vacations with groups. Survivors are her son Randy Toothman of Avant, Oklahoma; grandchildren Cole Fast and his wife Rachael of Mannford, Oklahoma, Shawn Rusco and her husband Jimmy of Mannford, Oklahoma, Clint Toothman and his wife Carrie of Morris, Oklahoma, Nathan Toothman of Olive, Oklahoma, Randa Jenkins and her husband Kody of Mannford, Oklahoma, Colby Toothman of Avant, Oklahoma, Wade Toothman of Prue, Oklahoma, Caler Toothman of Prue, Oklahoma, Ashley Toothman of Virginia, Kody Toothman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four great grandchildren Raegan Rusco, Kade Rusco, Kya Rusco, Jessie Cole Fast, Jenna, Jacie Jenkins, Cameron, Austin, Aaron, Ryan Toothman; brother in law Paul Toothman of Prue, Oklahoma, niece Jeannie James of Prue, Oklahoma, Judy Toothman of Mannford, Oklahoma; sister Joyce Baker of Langley, Oklahoma as well as a host of other relatives and friends that will mourn her passing. In addition to her parents Betty was preceded in death by her husband Ray Gene Toothman on March 15, 1961, children Pamela Jean Fast on March 5, 2005, Ronnie Toothman on February 24, 2009, brother David Rickner on May 10, 2008, brother in law Jim Baker on August 8, 2008, nephews Jimmy Baker on May 18, 1990 and Glenn Toothman on August 18, 1979. Church Services will be held 10:00 am Friday, July 1, 2011 at the Prue First Baptist Church with Rev. Garry McDevitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Prairie View Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
