Betty Jo Treece was born December 2, 1928 in Osage, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Donald Ray and Offie Z. (Manuel) Shipman. As a infant Betty moved with her family to Arkansas. They later returned to Osage where Betty began her education. Betty completed and graduated high school from Cleveland Public Schools. Betty Jo was united in marriage to the love of her life, Robert B. Treece on May 22, 1947, in Sedan, Kansas. The couple established their initial home in Cleveland where they have raised their three children Sharron Jo, Denice Ann and Robert Wayne. The couple later built their current home where they have continued to reside. Betty loved to cook. She made some of the best fried chicken, macaroni and tomatoes and strawberry short cake with crackers. However, she is best known for her fabulous banana pudding. Betty, Robert and the family spent many hours on Lake Keystone after Robert won a boat for guessing the correct day the lake would be full. Betty was a wonderful mother always making sure her children and their friends were taken care of. She enjoyed having her childrenÃs friends over and always made them feel at home. Betty and Robert enjoyed traveling. She went on many bus tours of the United States and even into Canada. Betty and Robert would frequent Branson and they especially liked the Presley Theater. Betty Jo Treece passed away on Monday, December 17, 2012 at her home with her family at her side at the age of 84 years and fifteen days. Survivors are her husband of over 65 years Robert B. Treece of the home; two daughters, Sharron Jo Wittenborn of Cutler, Illinois, Denice Ann and her husband Vance Cook of Mannford, Oklahoma, one son Robert Wayne and his wife Janet Treece of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren Robert Dean Klintworth, D Evan Klintworth, Jackie Weldon, Jamie Lynn Sweatt, Klinton Wayne Treece, Kaci Cook, Kirby Cook, Julie Lynn Whittenborn, John Jeffery Whittenborn, Jay Alan Wittenborn, two step grandchildren Kaitlyn Marie and Claire Nicole, five great-grandchildren Jakob, Lukas, Samuel, Abigail, Kaitlyn and a host of other relatives and friends that will mourn her passing. In addition to her parents Betty was preceded in death by two brothers, Denver R. and Leon Shipman, three sisters, Juanita Ross, Donna J. Davis and Nadean Bell.
