Betty Jo Smith Sneed

Betty was born March 25, 1933 in Bushton, Kansas the daughter of William and Flossie (Lewellen) Chrisope. As a young girl Betty moved with her family to Chase, Kansas where she was raised and received her education. At the completion of her education she was united in marriage to Roy Rider Smith in Sterling, Kansas on March 25, 1950. They made their initial home in Chase, Kansas. While living in Ponca City the joy of their life was brought to them, their son Roy E. Smith. Betty and Roy soon moved to Jennings, Oklahoma. After the death of Roy, Betty continued to remain in Jennings and was later united in marriage to Jesse Charles Sneed on December 23, 1989 in Yale, Oklahoma.

Betty worked at several different jobs through out her life some of them include waitressing at her mothers caf in Plainville, Kansas as well as a nurses aide, dental assistant, truck driver and cook.

Betty Jo Smith Sneed, passed away January 8, 2008 at the age of 74 years in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In addition to her parents Betty was preceded in death by her two husbands Roy Rider Smith Oct 27, 1979, Jesse Charles Sneed December 23, 1989, five sisters Ollie Louise Delano, Bobbie Jack Johnson, Pauline June Rickner, Billie Lee Seward, Opal Ann Young and one brother Donald Ray Chrisope.

Betty is survived by her son Roy Smith and his wife Brandi; one grandson Wyatt Rider Smith all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, January 11, 2008 in the Sanctuary of the Jennings First Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Compton officiating under the direction of Chapman Black Funeral Home of Cleveland, Oklahoma.
