Betty J. Fair a resident of Legacy Village in Bentonville, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013, at Bradford House In Bentonville at the age of 84 years 5 months and 10 days. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 7th from 4:00-7:00 pm in the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with burial at the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, August 8th at 10:00 am. Betty was born February 25, 1929, in Nebraska City, Nebraska to George Copenhaver and Helen Copenhaver (Huff). As a young woman Betty grew up in Nebraska City where she attended and graduated high school. She prided herself in high school as a fire-twirling majorette. Upon her graduation she moved to Catoosa, Oklahoma before moving back to Nebraska where she met and married her navy veteran husband, Joseph Fair. Their initial home was in Columbia, Missouri. At that time Betty and Joe had their first son, Gary Lee Fair. Betty and Joe moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where they had their second son, Michael Rogers Fair and soon there after moved to Detroit, Michigan. In 1960 they moved to Catoosa, Oklahoma. In the mid 1960Ãs, The family moved to Oklahoma City where Betty had various jobs including work as a dental assistant and finally her favored career as a real restate agent. Betty loved to travel, she and Joe would always take yearly trips to Colorado and South Padre Island. They established their home away from home at Isla Blanca Park in the same location for over 30 years. Mrs. Fair also enjoyed spending numerous hours painting and writing poetry, many which have been gifted to family members. In addition, her love of animals and gardening lasted her entire life. Her friends and family will always remember her witty humor and warm laughter. Survived by her two children Gary Lee Fair and Michael Rogers Fair and wife Kimberly of Garfield, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Marc, Mike, Ileta, Josh and Chelsea and three great-grandchildren, Dylan, Logan and Lauren as well as a host of other relatives and friends. In addition, Betty was the eldest with four siblings, Richard, John (Jack), Ronald and Georgene.
