Bernece M. Findley passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2013, at the Cimarron Pointe Care Center in Mannford, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years two months and six days. Bernece was born March 24, 1924 in Keystone, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Arthur and Ines Cleo (Nunneley) Duck. As a young girl Bernece was raised in the Keystone area where she attended school and later graduated from Keystone High School in 1941. Bernece enrolled at Tulsa Business College and completed her degree in 1942. She soon gained employment as a secretary and worked at the Ledbetter Law Firm in Cleveland and was later employed with Osage Oil where she worked until her retirement. Bernece was united in marriage to Albert E. Findley on April 4, 1953 at her parentÃs home in Keystone. Bernece was an active and devoted member of the Westport Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing and gospel music. She always loved to be on the go and took several trips with her family and friends. Bernece enjoyed watching sports on television. She was an avid fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder, OU Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys. Bernece spent her later years at the Cimarron Pointe Care Center where she was one of the favorites of the staff. She always had a pleasant smile and was very quick witted. Survivors include her sister Rose Studebaker of Prattville, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Bernece was preceded in death by her husband Albert E. Findley on August 17, 1988, brother Harold Duck, two sisters Margaret Ann Parsons, Florene Boone and her dear friend Garl Spain. Chapel services will be held Monday, June 3, 2013 at 10:30 am at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Gowdy officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
