Bella Jane Haws passed from this life on Friday, May 6, 2011 at the Wagoner Care Center at the age of 84 years 2 months and 15 days. Bella Jane was born on February 22, 1927 in Sebastion County, Arkansas. She was the daughter of James Benjamin and Elsie Lee (Garrison) Whittenburg. As a young girl Bella Jane moved with her family to the Old Keystone Area where she attended school. She was later united in marriage to Carl Haws on December 1, 1944 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The couple established their intial home in the Keystone area and later moved to West Tulsa after Keystone Lake was built. They have also resided in Sapulpa and in the early 1960ís moved to Sand Springs. Later in the 1970ís, Bella Jane and Carl moved near Mannford where they have continued to reside until recently. At that time in 2008, Bella Jane and Carl moved to Wagoner to be closer to their daughter. Bella Jane loved being with her family; especially the times camping out at the lake. She also enjoyed traveling with Carl in their motor home and going to South Texas during the winters. Bella Jane enjoyed to embroidery, crochet, and make Christmas ornaments for her family and friends. She was also very proud of her three children and the way they have turned out. However most of all Bella Jane wants everyone to know and believe in Jesus Christ her Lord and Saviour. Survivors are her husband, Carl of the home; two daughters, Thelma Terry and her husband Richard of Duncanville, Texas; Elsie Costigan and her husband Steve of Wagoner, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brothers, Nolen Whittenburg of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; two sisters Mary Casey of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Erma Bruner of Mannford, Oklahoma as well as a host of other relatives and friends that will mourn her passing. In addition to her parents Bella Jane was preceded in death by her son Gene Haws; five brothers, Roy, Ralph, H. J., Ted and Raymond Whittenburg. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday, May 9, 2011 in the Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
