Barbara Ann Hemphill, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home at the age of seventy-eight years, eleven months and three days. Barbara was born November 11, 1936, in Austin, Texas. She was the daughter Thomas Cleveland and Ellen Matilda (Hardsel) Laws. As a young girl Barbara moved with her parents to Hobbs, New Mexico. During this time Barbara attended and received her education in Hobbs. At the conclusion of her education she was united in marriage to Don Hogue. The couple resided in Hobbs area for many years before moving to Morris, Oklahoma. Barbara later moved to Collinsville where she worked as a police dispatcher for the City of Collinsville. While working as a dispatcher, Barbara met Dick C. Hemphill and was later united in marriage on August 13, 1981 in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple resided in Tulsa for a short time later moving to Sand Springs. In 1983, Barbara and Dick moved to the Terlton area where they remained until 2014. Barbara loved to sing and during her younger days would sing with her father T.C. in local establishments. She also loved flowers and was a wonderful baker. Survivors are her husband, Dick of the home; three children Billy Hogue of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Tom Hogue of Osage, Oklahoma, Doug C. Hemphill of Jenks, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren Brandon Hogue, Taylor Hogue, TJ Hogue, Stephanie Russco, Cherylynn Elliot, Rebecca Hogue, Zachary Hemphill, Chance Hemphill, Morgan Hemphill; nine great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her father T.C., mother Ellen, one son Roy Hogue and one grandson Stephen Hogue. Graveside services will be held 10:00 am Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Woodland Cemetery with Chaplain Roy Bingham officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home in the Woodland Cemetery.
