M. Bambie Stevens of Maramec, Oklahoma, died Monday, March 3, 2008 at OSU Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 53. Bambi was born December 23, 1954 in Henderson, Kentucky. As a young lady Bambie grew up and received her education in the Indiana and Louisville, Kentucky area. In the 1980's she moved to New Hampshire where she lived for many years. In the early 1990's Bambie returned to Indian and began working at a local convenience store. Mrs. Stevens continued working there until she was not able due to her health. At that time Bambie moved to Maramec to be closer to her daughter.
While living in Maramec, this allowed Bambie the time to spend with her grandchildren that she loved dearly. She was able to enrich their lives by teaching them about nature and to appreciative of what the Lord gives us each day. She often told her family that the warm breeze was a kiss from Jesus.
Survivors are her daughter Julie Travis and husband Jack of Maramec, Oklahoma; siblings Claudine McBride of Newtown, Indiana; Judy Lemon of Indiana, Joe Kimmel, Yvonne England and Wilma Hudson; three grandchildren Meghan Julia Wadsworth, Robert Brian Travis, Carolynn Dawn Travis her mother Mary Ann Kimmel of Frankfurt, Indiana as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Michael Stevens and father Claude Joseph Kimmel
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.
