Following another three-year duty, Arkie once again returned to Sand Springs where he cared for his wife Barbara until she passed away from diabetes in 1970. Arkie would obtain his private pilot’s license and he owned and operated his own Cessna single engine plane flying Osage Oil personnel all over the US while setting up Gas and Go stations.
Fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and helping his daughter with her oil production were just a few of the activities Arkie enjoyed.
