Funeral services for Anna May Brown, 83, of Cleveland, Oklahoma will be held 10:00 AM Friday at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Don Amon officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Friends may share a memory with the family online at www.chapman-black.com.

Anna May was born April 13, 1934, south of Cleveland, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Leonard Ethan and Edith Albertice (Gregory) Hall. Anna May started her education in Cleveland as well as attending school in Sand Springs for a short time. She later graduated from Cleveland High School with the Class of 1952. On August 23, 1952, Anna was united in marriage to Richard LaVerne Brown. The couple initially established their home on the Brown family farm near Blackburn, before moving to Drumright. A short time later the couple moved to Fairfax then to Pawhuska. In 1964, Anna May and Richard moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma where she has continued to reside. In the early 1980’s, Richard and Anna May started Ramco Oil Co. The two operated the business where Anna May was the backbone of the company. She ran the office, dispatched, as well as handled the accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Anna May enjoyed working crossword puzzles for hours at a time. Enjoyed playing the card game Shanghai as well. Most of all in life Anna May cherished the time spent with her family and especially her grandchildren. Having people at her home visiting also gave her great pleasure. Christmas and Thanksgiving was a significant time of year for Anna May, enjoying the moments of having her family together. Her home was her palace, always making sure everything was in perfect order as well as spotless.

Anna May passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017, at The Journey Home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Survivors are her four sons Alan L. Brown and his wife Carla of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; Darrell G. Brown and his wife Barbara of Ada, Oklahoma, Bryan L. Brown and his wife Marci of Lamont, Oklahoma, Perry J. Sheppard and his wife Amber of Cleveland, Oklahoma; three sisters Martha Strand of Casper, Wyoming, Marie Keeling and her husband Norman of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Nancy DeLay of Wichita, Kansas; sister in law Anna LaFern Brown of Cleveland, Oklahoma; brother in law Don Underwood of Tulsa, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends that will mourn her passing. Anna May was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard L. Brown, five siblings Robert Hall, Richard Hall, Tom Hall, Joy Underwood, Jerry Hall, grandson Nathan Brown and a great-grandson Alden Brown.
