Anna Brown

Anna LaFern Brown passed peacefully, surrounded by family on December 8, 2024, at the age of 90 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Anna was born on October 23, 1934, in Searcy County, Arkansas, to Roy and Della M. (Keeling) Thompson. She was the youngest of five children. When Anna was 2 years old, her family moved to Cleveland where she attended school. In Junior High, she met the love of her life, Virgil DeOrmand Brown and she wed at the age of 16 on December 30, 1950 in Hominy, Oklahoma. They were blessed with three sons and stayed busy keeping up them in football, basketball, baseball, and track.

Anna was a member of First Baptist Church and her favorite verse was John 3:16. "For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."

Survivors are three sons Gary Brown, Terry Brown and Craig Brown, 8 Grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. From Anna's own journal, "there are not enough words to describe how proud Virgil and I were of our family."  Anna was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Brown, father Roy Thompson, mother Della Thompson, four siblings Bernice Bradshaw, Kermit Thompson, Lorene Allen, and Robert Thompson.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the Woodland Cemetery. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Friends and family may visit an online guest book and memorial page for Anna LaFern Brown at www.chapman-black.com.
