Ann Lorett

Ann Lorett was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma on June 26, 1947; the daughter of Kenneth and Mary Delores (Reeder) Behrens. She moved with her family from Ripley to Yale at an early age where she attended school and received her education.

Ann was married to Jerry Lorett on December 24, 1963 in Yale, Oklahoma. The couple made their initial home in Yale. They traveled extensively throughout the United States while raising her family; following pipeline work meeting new people and making new friends everywhere.

The couple moved to Cleveland in the early 1990's and have been extremely active in Cleveland Athletics including Bobcat Football and Cleveland Tiger Football and Weightlifting Teams. Ann considered each member of the Cleveland Tiger Football team as a part of her family and assisted for several years with the Cleveland Quarterback Club.

Ann loved her family and dedicated her life to providing a Christian home for each of them. Her caring and compassion for her family extended to her grandchildren as well as her church family at the Western Heights Baptist Church. She loved spending special time with each of her family members whether over the phone each morning with Michele, having coffee with Randall, watching D. J. play football or lifting weights, or traveling with Jerry, Rhonda and Dana.

Ann was an active member of the Western Heights Baptist Church; her love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was evident in her daily walk and abound in the love she expressed for her family and friends. She continually stressed the importance of attending church and raising her family in a Christian environment.

Ann was often described as an honest and straight-forward person that stressed the importance of friendship. She was quoted as saying, "Don't ask it you really don't want to know the truth." She enjoyed making things beautiful as evidenced by her flowers around her home and yard. She considered raising D. J. and watching him mature into a fine young man as one of her most important accomplishments.

The love she displayed for her loving husband, Jerry was also evident in her example to those around her for nearly forty-five years.

Ann was carried home in the arms of the angels to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at the age of sixty-one years. She would share the following scripture with her friends and family from Isaiah 58:11: The Lord will continually lead you; he will feed you even in parched regions. 1 He will give you renewed strength, 2 and you will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring that continually produces water.

Ann leaves her loving family including her husband, Jerry of the home; two sons, D. J. Lorett of the home, Randall and his wife Denise Lorett of Cleveland, Oklahoma; daughter, Michele Lorett-Deierlein and her husband, Scott of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Kasey, Chantz, Chad, Kristoffer, Krystall, Trinton, Chet, and Courtney; a godson, Korben Michael Lorett; Aunt Liz, Aunt Sandy and many cousins, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Dee Behrens and a son, Donnie Lorett.

A Celebration of the Life of Ann Lorett will be held at 9:00 am, Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at the Western Heights Baptist Church with Rev. David Head officiating. Burial will be at the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund has been established through the Cleveland Quarterback Club, P. O. Box 173, Cleveland, Oklahoma 74020 in memory of Ann Lorett. "BEAT HOMINY"
