Angela Jean (Roe) Anderson, 70, of Wichita, Kansas passed from this life on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021, in the Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. Angela was born February 6, 1951, in Tulsa, the daughter of Garrett and Patricia “Patty” (Peters) Haiflich. She was raised and received her education in Hominy, graduating with the class of 1970. While in high school, Angela worked as a “candy striper” at the Hominy City Hospital and later in the x-ray department of the Pawhuska Hospital. Angela later owned her own cleaning service in Grove, Oklahoma and worked as an event planner at the Cherokee Queen and Shangri La. While living in Grove, she met her future husband Jerry Anderson at a fish fry on Grand Lake. They were united in marriage on December 15, 2007, in Wichita, Kansas, where they made their home. At the time of her death, she was employed as a secretary at Anderson Orthodontic Lab. Angela enjoyed gardening, crafts and sewing; but especially she loved spending time with her family – mainly the grandchildren and her little dog McKayla.
Those that survive include her husband – Jerry of the home; children – Christina Cowan and husband Byron of Pawhuska; Ronald Surrett and wife Rikki of Claremore; Bryan Surrett and wife Cassy of Pawhuska and Jennifer Guth and husband Charles of Altharetta, GA. Also surviving are her father – Garrett Haiflich of Hominy; brother Craig Roe of Wynona; two sisters Rhonda Moe of Tontitown, Arkansas and Robin Williams of Clarksville, Arkansas; eight grandchildren – Morgan, Tyler, Haley, Destiny, Adyn, Tyler, CJ and Molly; and two great grandchildren Bella and Clyde. Angela was preceded in death by her mother Patty.
Funeral services for Angela will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, September 10th in the chapel of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Cleveland, OK, with Jacob Bruno of the Pawhuska Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery, Hominy, OK. Visitation for Angela will be Thursday, September 9th from noon to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
