Amyle Arnold Peterman, a life long resident of Cleveland was born April 14, 1928 in Keystone, Oklahoma to Arnold and Blanche Nellie (Boothe) Peterman. As a young boy, Amyle grew up in the Keystone area attending the Rigsby Grade School. He then began high school in Cleveland where he graduated in 1947. After high school, Amyle continued to help his family on the farm and after several years, he gained employment with C.E. Natco in West Tulsa. On August 11, 1951, Amyle was united in marriage to Wanda Jean Jones and to this union are two children Jerald and Marie.
After their marriage, Amyle and Wanda have continued to reside in the Keystone area on the original family farm. Amyle continued to work for C.E. Natco until his retirement in 1981, after over 30 years as a welder. After his retirement, Amyle began to do what he loved most hunting, fishing, taking walks, working in the garden, raising cattle and farming. This gave Amyle the opportunity to spend countless hours visiting with his family and friends. Retirement gave Amyle and Wanda quality time to spend traveling with his brother and sister throughout the United States. The grandchildren have stated, ìWe will always remember Grandpa rocking in his chair singing to us old country songs.î Amyle was a charter member of the Keystone Baptist Church as well as a member of the Steel Workers Union.
Amyle passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2006, at his home in Cleveland, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years 4 months and 9 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Juanita Collins as well as a infant sister Arnolene.
Survived by his loving wife of over 55 years, Wanda of the home; children, Jerald and his wife Joannie Peterman, Marie Burges, two brothers, Tommy Peterman, Edwin Peterman; five sisters, Wilma Gray, Elnora Dawson, Lela Davis, Frankie Wallace, Armina Scott all of Cleveland, Oklahoma; six grandchildren Lori, Shannan, Sarah, Ranae, Crystal and her husband Rocky, Duwane; five great grandchildren as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Roy Meigs, Randy Jones, DeWayne Jones, Clint Jones, Jessie Peterman, and Jackie Peterman will be serving as pallbearers.
Funeral services will be held August 25, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Keystone Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Roger Rister. Burial will be at the Sinnett Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.
