Allen DeWayne King, 54, passed from this life on November 12, , at home surrounded by family in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Born on May 10, 1965 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Allen is the son of Harvey Ralph and Lena Marie (Carney) King. At a young age, the family moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma. While living at home he went on trips with is family to Alaska, Oregon, and Canada. He attended school in Cleveland, as well as Vo-Tech in Drumright, training to be a diesel technician. During high school, Allen worked for Safeway Grocery Store until his graduation with the class of 1984. After graduation, Allen began working for International in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Allen met Elizabeth Margaret Burchardt during a blind date that their friends, Roger and Renee Walker, had set up. The couple later wed in Westport, Oklahoma, on January 18, 1991. In the late 90s, Allen went to work for the Fadler Company. Then in 2010, Allen began working for the Tulsa Housing Authority as a maintenance supervisor.
Allen loved riding motorcycles anytime the weather permitted he was out on his bike. A mutual love of riding is how he met his wife Willette Rochelle Bartlett King. He offered to take her for a ride and they became inseparable after that. They wed August 12, 2015 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He also enjoyed disc golf, going out on the boat, and other lake activities. Allen was active with the youth at church, often being a youth sponsor at Falls Creek. Allen would seek out opportunities to witness for the Lord. He held a membership in Red Knights who raised money for the Fire Fighter Burn Camp, there also were toy runs and poker runs he did to raise money for various chartable causes.
Survivors include his wife Willette of the home, five children Chris King and his wife Kelly, Carley Pocowatchit and her husband Andrew, Breawna Erassarret and and her husband Devon, Katelyn Southard; sister Tina King Studebaker; six grandchildren Hunter, Jono, Aaron, Embry, Caleb and Abigail, nieces Corrie Studebaker, Nicole Foster and Kevin and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Preceding Allen in death is his mother Lena King, father Harvey King, sibling Bobby King, niece Ashley Studebaker, great uncle Forrest Scearce.
A celebration of Allen’s life will take place Saturday, November 23, 2019, at 2:00 PM in the Westport Baptist Church outside Cleveland, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home in Cleveland, Oklahoma. An online guestbook is available at www.chapman-black.com.
