Alice Gertrude Ramsey

Alice Gertrude Ramsey was born April 7, 1915 in Okemah, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of John and Laura Rader. Alice moved with her family at an early age to Hominy where she was raised and attended school, graduating from Hominy High School in 1934.

Alice was married to John Marvel Ramsey at Sedan, Kansas on August 15, 1936. The couple then established their home in the Pearland, Texas area. They continued to reside in Pearland until John retired in 1975, at which time they moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma. John preceded her in death on October 29, 1989. Alice's hobbies included sewing and gardening.

She passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2002 at the Tulsa Regional Medical Center at the age of eighty-six years, nine months and seventeen days. In addition to her husband, Alice was preceded in death by four brothers, Everett, Herbert, LeRoy and Regnald.

Alice is survived by two sisters, Edna Mowery, Greers Ferry, Arkansas and Agnes Jackson, Albuquerque, New Mexico; and a brother, Eugene Rader, Pearland, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 26, 2002 at the Chapel of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Wilson officiating. Burial will be at the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
