Albert Lee Rigsby was born May 23, 1922 in Keystone, Oklahoma. He was the son of Grover and Mathilda Marie (Peterman) Rigsby. Albert was raised in the Keystone area and attended Rigsby School.
Upon completion of his education, Albert accepted employment at Commander Mills in Sand Springs until he was inducted into the service of his country in the United States Army Air Corp in 1941. He served honorably in World War II and was discharged in 1944, returning to the Cleveland area.
In 1951, Albert accepted employment with the United States Civil Service at Tinker Air Force Base, working as a quality control specialist. He was married to Judith Kay Cannon in Dodge City, Kansas on September 4, 1971. The couple had two children, Philip and Jennifer. Upon his retirement in 1978, Albert and his family returned to the Cleveland area, near old Keystone.
Albert then continued to remain active after his retirement by accepting employment with EVE Incorporated and then with the Tulsa County Fairgrounds. He was an avid gardener and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. His favorite pastime, however, was spending time with friends and family. He loved to visit and never seemed to meet a stranger. Albert was a member of the Broadway Baptist Church in Sand Springs, Oklahoma and the Veterans of Foreign War in Mannford.
He passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Tulsa at the age of eighty-four years, two months and nineteen days. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Mathilda Rigsby; brother, Grover Rigsby and a sister, Emma Fletcher.
